Cop loses this one. - 04-02-10, 11:04 PM

This vid is in no way funny. A cop here not ready to do what he needed to paid the price.
Disturbing.

Not going to smash mouth the guy as it ended poorly for him.
Cops have upgraded there firepower since this film.

Why was this Police officer even allowed out on patrol? He clearly had no proper training. He should have shot the guy as soon as he reached for the gun.

Thats was a harrowing clip indeed, I felt so sorry for the poor guy.

Not sure upgrading the firepower is the answer, as he didnt seem able to deal with the situation at the correct point, he could have had a bazooka and it would most likely have turned out the same.

in the article it adresses the training issue , the fire power comment was about the man with the rifle was hit, wasn't put down. The old "stopping power" issue.

When he first ran up to the cop the cop should have just taking him to the floor and cuffed him, or at least subdued him until backup arrived?

Maybe if the cop at first had other alternatives in the form of pepper spray or tazer, as sson as he felt the situation deemed neccessary (before he pulled out the rifle).

Agree with Cappy though better stopping power with the first round may have provided a different outcome.

Did the cop survive?
